Thanks to you, I know what to watch out for and I know how to prep my body for hard work. As I fatigue, I know where to be mindful of my gait and when I am sore, I know where and how to direct my energy. I know there were times that I wanted a quick specific fix to the problems I was having. You helped me be patient and hopeful and to appreciate the complexity of the cause of my symptoms and the remedy.

My passion for perinatal care and recovery began in physical therapy school, when I started asking a simple question:

“Why isn’t physical therapy standard care during pregnancy and postpartum?”

It never made sense to me. People with orthopedic injuries: shoulders, knees, backs, etc. routinely receive pre- and post-operative physical therapy. Yet people who experience the profound physical and emotional changes of pregnancy and childbirth often aren’t told that pelvic health physical therapy is even an option.

As I got older and my friends began having babies, I heard the same questions again and again:

Why didn’t anyone tell me about this? Is this normal? What happened to my body? Where can I go for help?

They felt lost and unsupported while navigating the drastic physical, emotional, and identity shifts that come with pregnancy and childbirth.

Witnessing this struggle lit a fire in me. Empowerment, both personally and professionally, has always been my greatest driver.

Early in my career, perinatal care existed more on the sidelines of my work: teaching modules in childbirth education classes, offering occasional prenatal yoga classes, and weaving this passion in where I could. But in 2019, I decided to fully devote my career to pelvic health physical therapy, specializing in pregnancy and postpartum care.

I was tired of seeing the same pattern repeat itself.

“When did your chronic pain start?”
“After childbirth.”

I couldn’t stop asking why we weren’t intervening sooner. Why were we allowing people to suffer through years of aches, pain, and disconnection, often believing they simply weren’t doing enough to heal? Birthgivers deserve better. Plain and simple.

My treatment approach blends hands-on bodywork, individualized exercise progressions, mindfulness practices, and energy work to help realign the body and restore balance; physically, emotionally, and energetically. I remain deeply committed to continuing my education and expanding my skill set to offer thoughtful, holistic care, particularly for those navigating pregnancy and postpartum.

Expanding Beyond Physical Therapy

Becoming a parent myself further deepened my understanding of how much support is missing; not just physically, but emotionally, hormonally, and socially during major life transitions.

This realization led me to expand my work beyond traditional physical therapy and into coaching. While pelvic health PT remains a powerful and valuable tool, it is often only one piece of the healing process. Coaching allows me to support people more fully; offering guidance, education, space for reflection, and community during transitions like postpartum and midlife.

Today, my work weaves together physical therapy, coaching, and whole-person support - always grounded in the belief that you already have the capacity to heal. My role is to walk alongside you, offering tools, perspective, and compassionate guidance as you reconnect with your body, your strength, and yourself.
